Charass ft. Davido & Phyno – Coco Butter (Remix)
MMM Recordz ace, Charass started off 2014 on a very high note with the enjoyable track “Coco Butter” along with the video. A few months later, he followed it up mid-year with a Terry G collaboration titled “Correct Oh” which also got great feedback from listeners.
It looks like the talented singer will be ending 2014 the same way he began the year with a “Coco Butter” banger. This time, it’s the remix featuring Davido and Phyno, who both happen to be the Top 2 hottest acts in Nigeria for the year 2014, as revealed on The List here on NJO.
Excellent remix, in my opinion. This jam needs a video for the fast-approaching holiday season ASAP!

Liberia's President writes moving letter to the world
Dear World
In just over six months, Ebola has managed to bring my country to a standstill. We have lost over 2,000 Liberians. Some are children struck down in the prime of their youth. Some were fathers, mothers, brothers or best friends. Many were brave health workers that risked their lives to save others, or simply offer victims comfort in their final moments.
There is no coincidence Ebola has taken hold in three fragile states – Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea - all battling to overcome the effects of interconnected wars. In Liberia, our civil war ended only eleven years ago. It destroyed our public infrastructure, crushed our economy and led to an exodus of educated professionals. A country that had some 3,000 qualified doctors at the start of the war was dependent by its end on barely three dozen. In the last few years, Liberia was bouncing back. We realized there was a long way to go, but the future was looking bright.
Now Ebola threatens to erase that hard work. Our economy was set to be larger and stronger this year, offering more jobs to Liberians and raising living standards. Ebola is not just a health crisis – across West Africa, a generation of young people risk being lost to an economic catastrophe as harvests are missed, markets are shut and borders are closed.
The virus has been able to spread so rapidly because of the insufficient strength of the emergency, medical and military services that remain under-resourced and without the preparedness to confront such a challenge. This would have been the case whether the confrontation was with Ebola, another infectious disease, or a natural disaster.
But one thing is clear. This is a fight in which the whole world has a stake. This disease respects no borders. The damage it is causing in West Africa, whether in public health, the economy or within communities – is already reverberating throughout the region and across the world.
The international reaction to this crisis was initially inconsistent and lacking in clear direction or urgency. Now finally, the world has woken up. The community of nations has realized they cannot simply pull up the drawbridge and wish this situation away.
This fight requires a commitment from every nation that has the capacity to help – whether that is with emergency funds, medical supplies or clinical expertise.
I have every faith in our resilience as Liberians, and our capacity as global citizens, to face down this disease, beat it and rebuild. History has shown that when a people are at their darkest hour, humanity has an enviable ability to act with bravery, compassion and selflessness for the benefit of those most in need.
From governments to international organisations, financial institutions to NGOs, politicians to ordinary people on the street in any corner of the world, we all have a stake in the battle against Ebola. It is the duty of all of us, as global citizens, to send a message that we will not leave millions of West Africans to fend for themselves against an enemy that they do not know, and against whom they have little defence.
The time for talking or theorizing is over. Only concerted action will save my country, and our neighbours, from experiencing another national tragedy. The words of Henrik Ibsen have never been truer: “A thousand words leave not the same deep impression as does a single deed.
Yours sincerely,
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

Photo: EFCC arrest Kingpin of fraudsters in Ondo state
Find the EFCC press statement below...
A deadly syndicate of fraudsters who virtually opened an office for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Akure, the Ondo State capital, from where they dispatch fake invitation letters to unsuspecting heads of government agencies purporting to be carrying out investigation activities against them, has been uncovered.
The kingpin of the syndicate, one Olubunmo Olalekan, who is currently in EFCC custody in Abuja, was arrested by operatives of the Department of State Service, DSS, and handed over to the Commission.
At the point of arrest, Olalekan who parades himself as a Principal Detective Superintendent of the EFCC, had in his possession fake letter head papers of the Commission, 30 GSM sim cards, assorted complimentary cards, a laptop computer and printer from where he churns out the fraudulent invitation letters.
His modus operandi is to send out the bulk invitation letters to as many agencies as possible, via courier, claiming to have pending petitions alleging corruption against their heads.
Investigations so far revealed that the suspect has written and distributed over sixty letters purportedly from the Commission to several top officials of ministries, department and agencies. Among them are the chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Ibadan; Managing Director, NPDC Limited, Sapele Road, Benin City; Professor Idowu Odeyemi, Provost Nigerian Institute of Mining and Geosciences, Jos; Managing Director/Chief Executive Office, Jebba Hydro Electric Plc, Jebba, Niger State; Medical Director, National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State; Dr. Iyela Ajayi, Provost Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State and a host of others.
He would leave a GSM number in the letters asking the agency heads to contact a PDS Adeniyi. Those who fall for the scam are asked to pay money for the purported case against them to be dropped.
The syndicate had gone to the extent of issuing clearance letters to those that met their terms.
But some heads of agencies that are sure they had done nothing untoward to warrant investigation by the EFCC have been bold to contact the Commission, which was how Olalekan was nabbed.

Shocking!!! Man Rapes 2 Year Old Girl in Ebonyi, Blames It on “Conji”
A 30-year-old man Inya-Okoro from Afikpo North Local Government area of Ebonyi, has been arrested for raping a 2-year-old girl Favour. The Sun reports that the suspect allegedly committed the act when little Favour returned from school and was asleep by the corridor of her parent’s home. . Inya-Okoro who also lives in the same building reportedly pounced on her and defiled her. He was arrested by the Police when the girl’s family alerted officers, and he will be charged to court for prosecution. Favour has since been taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. The state’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Chris Anyanwu lamented the high rate of rape in the area and urged parents to be careful. In an interview with Crime Watch, he admitted to the crime and blamed it on his sexual urges
“What happened was that I went to look for job as labourer on the fateful day but could not get any job and I returned home. As I was washing my cloth, I saw the girl laying down sleeping wearing only pant, I rushed and carried her and have sex with her. It was ‘conji’ that caused it and I don’t have money to go for mature girls.”
The girl’s father told reporters he was in church when the incident happened, and that it was a neighbour who called him to inform him.

End Times : Madonna University student arrested for allegedly killing own father
A 27-year-old undergraduate of Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, Chijioke Ezebuiro, was paraded yesterday July 22nd by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly killing his 87-year-old father, Dr. Emmanuel Ezebuiro. This sad event comes barely three weeks after 21 year old Tolani Ajayi killed his 60 year old father inside the Redeemed Christian Church of God campground.
While parading Chijioke before newsmen, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna said Chijioke is the chief suspect in his father's death because he was the only one around when the deceased was brutally murdered on June 30th at his home in Umuoriehi, Isingwu in Umuahia North LGA of Abia state. According to his elder brother's statement to the police, Chijioke had often threatened to kill their father. The elder brother said he left their father and Chijioke at home to drop off his children at school only to return to find their father in the pool of his own blood. He immediately called the police after Chijioke could not explain what happened to their father. Police preliminary reports shows that there was no evidence of someone else gaining access into the home when the octogenarian was murdered.
During his interrogation, Chijioke claimed he was having his bath when his father was murdered."After taking my bath as I was going towards my room I saw people screaming in my father’s room, so I decided to go inside to know what was happening there. When I went there I saw my brother and my cousin in my father’s room and I saw my dad on top of his bed. I was shocked to see blood on his head. I was so scared I had to go down stairs to call one of my cousins. When I came back with him we were asking them what happened none of them told us anything. He told us to go down stairs the next thing was for me to see police coming to arrest me, took me to the police station, saying I am a murderer, that’s all.” he said.He denied ever threatening his life, maintaining they had a good relationship.
